I just purchased to small percula clowns and a yellow seabae anenome. Will a percula possibly host with the seabae. Also, the LFS said I did not have to ffed the anenome, that they ate "from the tank" Is this true ?
Also, I have a domino damsel that seems to have taena a liking to the anenome. I thought only clowns could prevent anenome stings. Is this not true ? :joy:

i feed my LTA silversides, but im not sure about a sebae. I just think about when theyre in the wild, anemone eat fish and meaty stuff.
I have only seen a couple percula host with a sebae, but it all depends on what the clown likes. :)
I have also seen a couple chromis rub across anemone before, but i always thought the same as you, clowns only. I know that clowns can do it because they build up an immunity to the sting, but Im not sure about other fish.

clowns are from the damsel family! Some damsels have been known to be able to live in anemones.
As to the feeding, well you have chosen a rather difficult species of anemone. Anemones can get some of what they need from the water column, howver they can also benifit from direct feedings of meaty foods chopped fine. None of that however will be able to replace its lighting needs. I firmly belive that the sebea requires metal halide lighting. As a photosynthetic animal, nothing can replace the photosynthetic necessity of proper lighting. If proper lighting is not in place then it may be on a slow course to death.
Several threads about sebae anemones in this forum if you would like to get more feedback.
