Anenome help

I bought the cutest bta yesterday...floated and released him, but the little bugger started toward the back of the tank and has wedged itself between a powerhead and a rock at the very back of the tank(I turned the powerhead off when I saw it going back there). Will it move? I sure hope so cause I cant see it back there unless I shove my head thru the wall, get a kink in my neck and crush some vertibra!

imo its normal for them to hide for a few hrs,you didnt acclimate correctly floating is not enough atleast 2-3hrs dripping the bta was stressed and dumping him into a tank where parameters might be diff. is very stressful.what are your parameters?how long has tank been set up?these are things you should read on before buying, what lights do you run?and it will move until it finds its home you can cover your powerheads cant think of the name right now, keep an eye on it so it dosent get sucked up

DANG! Some LFS!!! They told me to float, but now that you say that about drip-acclimation it makes sense to me. I sorta was hesitant about just putting it into the tank after floating it, but was going by the LFS. *sigh* I have plenty of flow without that one powerhead so I think I'll just leave it off til he moves. Tank has been up and running for approx 2 mo. I have some snails and crabs in the tank, and some died but I removed them as soon as I saw them. Water changed a few days prior to adding the anenome. Ammonia -0, Nitrites -0, Nitrates - 0, Ph -8. Pwr compacts but I dont know the wattage atm. (poor little guy....I feel so bad)

If it gets close to a place not good for him, how do I move him?

you should wait atleast 6months+ before putting an anemone,if i was you i'de return it before it dies, imo anem. need metal hailde power compacts wont be good for long term,he will be on the move until you meet the the needs of an anem. if snail and crabs died you should never of thought an anem. would be ok

I didnt mean the snails crabs died recently and was just a few in the beginning. You have to have MH for anemones? I didnt understand part of your post...sorry esp the last line.

It is better to float and drip them but not neccesary . I have a few BTAs that have thrived over four years so far under pc . IMO if you have enough pc you will be fine for BTAs . Your tank is not mature enough to handle anemones right now and will most likely die unless you return it . While your waiting a few months for your tank to be able to handle an anemone you should do some research about anemones ,their needs, and the care they need .Anemones need a well matured tank with good flow , pristine water , and proper lighting to successfully survive .
