I would agree on the digesting part if you recently fed it. Mine would close up like that after feeding. Also could be getting too much light perhaps...
What is the question about your percs MarineMan?

MarineMan0 , I read you post on your clowns . Clowns will pair at a young age and be buddies . This doesn`t mean they will become a mating pair . Depending on how old you clowns are it can take years until they breed , if they do . If you are really interested in breeding clowns I would recommend a few books to read while you are watching them grow . You will need rotifer and phytoplankton cultures to get started . Then brine shrimp and other small powder foods when they get older .
Clownfishes by Joyce Wilkerson and Plankton Culture Manual by Hoff and Snell are really good books with a lot of info and will help you learn about clowns , how the breed , and what will be needed to raise fry . .

As stated above its either has just got finished eating a big meal or its getting ready to get rid of its waste. They look really really odd when they poo. LOL

mine does that at night, before he lets the maroon clown sleep lol. should be enough food, once a week is plenty...really depends on your lighting
