first...how old is your tank?
second, most anenomes prefer the sand or wedged up in a rock. They will move to a place they like better and when they do be ready to move corals and such.
Anenomes should not be started until your tank is at least 8 months old although most will say a year.

some say 8 months some say a year mainly you wnat good lighting they require descent lighting. Also they will move until they find a place they like with the right water movement and lighting.I would touch them or really mess with them.If you want to you can wedge them inbetween a rock.Yes I would reccomend a tank for it to be at least 8 months old.
Hope This Helps,
Logan
P.S. A clownfish will help them acclimate faster and be less stressed do you have one?You dont have to have a clown most people just like the realationship between the two.

some say 8 months, some say a year
and MOST say never.
other than that, the infor is correct, they will move til they find out where they want to be at, so just put them on a rock and let them go.

I had seen an earlier thread from several months ago with info listing that anemones live 100-200 years. I was using that as my source, thanks for the correction.

yeha, they are supposed ot live for centuries or thousands of years, not just one or 2, I just find that fascinating.
Who syas you can't live forever? you can if you are an anemone

we would have to ask the scientists, that si kinda like trying out how to figure out how we know that a 15 ft blue marlin is @150 yrs old. I cannot tell you for sure. But they figure this out sometimes.. Even a 50 yr old wild fish or anemone, is very questionable as to how they figure it out. But they do.

Anemones are a waste of money, and they simply don't live very long at all for most people......regardless of conditions. I would guess their life span is generally cut down to about a month for every 500 years they would have lived. I'm done with them. :)
