Hi Guys and Gal's
I would like to know the best parameters to keep Angel fish? once again I tried to have them and to no avail death
has won, it seems like everytime I try it happens, some people say its hit or miss but I have a lot more misses here are my Parameters of the tank
125 gal
2 canister filters 1 fluval fx5 - 1 rated for the tank
1 UV sterilizer 25watt
Ammonia 0
Nitrate 0
Nitrite 0
Tank has been established over 8 months
2 1/2 inches of live sand
150 lbs of live rock
Fish in tank:
2 Hencheous butterflys 3 1/2 in
1 Foxface 3 in
1 yellow tang 3 in
6 green chromis
4 damsels
1 diamond gobie
1 lawnmower blenny
Now some would say im over stocked but until I put the (2 in) French Angel in, the tank has been well established and all fish were doing great ( Now they are still doing great I caught the loss fast)
Now this hasn't been the first time this has happened to me over my 20 years of doing salt and fresh tanks I'm just at a loss as to why? maybe someone can shed some better light thanks for the advice in advance

Hmm ok that's a good kit. Some of the larger angels are just touchy fish. U could just have bad luck

Hi,
I couldn't keep an angelfish alive to save my life for the first year my tank was set up...after that first year, my angelfish were very hardy. I don't really know what it is about new tanks, but angelfish are hard to keep alive in them. The best I can figure, new tanks have to mature, it isn't just parameters. Certain algae has to develop and certain changes naturally occur. A new tank is all over the place as it changes from stage to stage.

LOL... I had thought you had 3 yellow tangs, and kind of got on to you about that, and 150lbs of rock in a 125g tank...when I realized I had misread, I changed my post. Now I see your picture...You have nowhere near too much rock. I still think it's just too new of a tank for angels...let it mature before trying again.
