I believe Crimzy said that a Rubbermaid 300 gallon (and it's oval shape) would be good for the smaller sharks and the rubbermaid only cost $250-$300. You could also mod it up with viewing windows on the sides rather than just a look down view.
Thats what i would do if i ever decided to get any sharks...

Yeah - a rubbermaid 300 would be good for a coral catshark or two. Maybe a single small bamboo or eppie(30" or less). But anything bigger and you'll need a bigger pond.

hey kjr, would 2 papuan epaullete sharks be ok in a 16' wide 3' deep circular lagoon with a bunch of reef fish?
IMPO - NO!
Papuan Eppies grow to about 30" long - so the minimum I would suggest for a pair(2) of them is at least 450-480 gallons - either a 8'L x 4'W x2'H aquarium or a 6ft diameter pond that about 2 ft deep.

LOL trust me, i know how cold it gets up here :p and its gonna be in the basement LOL so yeah, its gonna be indoors :p i know better than to put something like that outdoors, we're actually thinking about doing 2 lagoons, one reef like i have planned, n jess, my gf, wants to have a second one that we can move our koi into once winter hits, instead of them stayin outside in the outdoor koi pond

I thought if over and I plan to keep both of the sharks in the 200 gallon unless I see that the tank for whatever reason it is incapable of housing them. If it comes to that, which it could, I have made arrangments. But I'm not going to get angels now, I was really looking forward to it though. Could i get a sailfin, blue hippo, naso, and one other tang? What other brightly colored fish might I be able to get?

no all my tangs got along very well together but the lined eye surgeon was a mean bugger tried to slash and bite me any chance he could but left the others alone.. I fed alot several ( 4-5) times per day this kept them very happy and weekly water changes of 25%... I think this too kept aggressions down due to lack of competition of food....my fish food bill alone was $200 per month

YES it is likely you will have issues.
It can not be prevented other than by not combining them.
There is no second chance if they nip the eyes out. This is, for me, not a "I've heard it" this is something I have direct experience with unfortunately. I don't recommend it. :(

susan, i think its just he doesnt want tolisten, period, he is convinced that he can do it easily, an thats what he's gonna do, at least thats the feeling i get

That is a good decision, but don't go back on it. Sharks won't grow back eyes :(
THe problem really is that although 200g seems like a really big tank (and it would be if you were keeping clownfish) for sharks it is actually pretty small.

im talkig about a lagoon thats 16' in diameter :p not something tiny LOL it should displace close to 4500 gallons LOL
Opps - My mistake.
I thought you were talking about a pond 16 inches in diameter instead of 16 ft. in diameter.
At 16 ft in diameter - you could keep several sharks the size of the Papuan Eppies. Or even a pair of a larger species such as Port Jackson's.
Personally I would suggest the tidal pool habitat - with eppies, bamboos & coral catsharks. Since these would be the easiest to keep and the hardiest of species.

could i also do the whole lagoonal reef environment as well, with lots of reef fish in it in schools or no? LOL cause thats the whole point of setting it up
