Anglerfish/Frogfish Questions

These guys are like lion fish yes? they can sting I mean. I know when I move my hand near him/her. It doesn't run just flares up its fins and directs them toward me.
Its so cool!

I got it a bit of shrimp and put one near it, it pops out its lure and starts wiggling away so I scoot the shrimp near and BAM its gone

hmm. must be faking me out then lol. Every time I get near it, it puffs up and directs its top fins toward me

It's "puffing up" to make itself look bigger due to the threat (you).

This guy ok feeding on mysis? I dropped in a few pre thawed mysis and nudged them a bit with my chopstick. He wolfed them down and I plan on waiting until probably sunday to feed him again ( I know they tend to overeat)
On a funny note, The tank near to him has gotten his interest. With its gobys, he sits near the side of the tank and tries to lure them in, one firefish goby has started pressing against the tank with its butt and I think its taunting him..

Congrats on the addition!!! like i said above i loved my angler!!! im sure you will as well, mine seemed to love the powerheads and the water brushing him, who knows tho

ha and no he wont sting you at all, i used to pick mine up to move him around the tank when i was cleaning/rearranging things!!! Good luck with him, be careful he will easily become your fav fish in no time!!!

He is awesome, I love his big fluffy beard and head doodle.

and once you are sure hes eating the frozen foods, you could always put some chromis or damsels in there for movement... he may eat one evey now and then but oh well.... i would just wait a while till he solidly eating so you dont have him revert to wanting live food...
