Ok, This thing came on some rock a long time ago. It resembles a black slug. It does not move, yet I have noticed that it has moved or grown a little towards the light over the past few months. It is attached to the rock, and will not be pulled off. It is 100% black and has one small hole like a sea-squirt. It is about one inch long. What could this thing be? Thanx!

I agree with Bang, sounds like a sponge, unless you find a second hole in it, then it may be a sea squirt, which has two holes, one for water in-take, and another for out-take. Also, since you have tried to move it, you have probably touched it. If it feels kinda slimy then it is probably an encrusting sponge. Sea squirts have a more leathery texture.
