Another quick question

I never started a new SW tank. I bought mine already set up.
It will be a 20g seahorse only tank. I've got the sand in, a couple of pcs of live rock and I put a few frozen krill in to start the process. Using an existing filter that was on my other tank. My question is when should I start to see the ammonia start to go up? Roughly...

I think you should see ammonia going up in a day or two.

Once it starts, I really dont have to check it all the time do I?

when i first cycled my tank i checked the levels every day to make sure that everything was running as scheduled and amm, nitrite, nitrate spikes were going on time. after that just maybe once a week or so to make sure everything is alright.
