another skimmer question

yes, but it should be pretty dark. you shouldn't be able to see through it.

its not skimmate in there right now its just water....

bump.. it is a little more brown that the water in the tank but it is still very watery

Give it time to break in. Normally the higher the collection cup the drier the skimate. What brand did you purchase?

I am not familiar with it, but it is supposed to be a good brand. Try raising or lowering (I'd lower it first) your collection cup and watch the results

Octopus break in SLOW. just keep the water level right where the collection cup riser begins and wait....and wait..In the first week it will do something some of the time but expect to wait 2wks for it to get cooking and a good month before your woohooing.
