another temp question...

i asked before about my temp problem. i have a 90 gallon tank w/ glass canopy and perfecto hood lights on them. i just raised them about 2 inches off the glass and i will keep the glass canopy partially open. i also have a fan blowing every once in a while and i just bought 2 small fans, waiting for them to come in. anything other suggestions or comments..

That sounds like it should keep the temp pretty stable in your tank.

thanx for everyones help and replies. we all appreciate any little thing. glass canopies might not be the way to go but for now its all i have and if i keep the front parts open that should be enough evaporation and enough to let the heat out.

I have glass tops on my tank and it never seems to cause any heat problems. My tank stays stable at 80.7 degrees.

do you have a chiller, fans, or do anything to keep it cool. also i live in florida...how about you

I live in Philadelphia, PA. It has been between 80 and 90 here. All I use to cool my tank is a fan.

i had a 55 gallon tank for about 2 years with aversa top hood and i had no problems until i got a 90 gallon tank with a glass canopy. but i have a standing fan for a temporary solution until i get my ordered fans in. and hopefully things will be fine. its been about 85-90 but also high humidity here though...like usual.
