Another unknown creature in the tank question.

I have just started my salt water tank, and have just put the live rock in. As I was checking placement I noticed what I thought was a spider crawling out of a hole in the rock. As I watched, it came out, stood up and stretched!!! It is about 1/2 inch long and looks like a praying mantis except it doesn't have an abdomen. It moves slow, extends its front "antennae" to the next area and then moves its back "legs" like an inchworm. Its color is brown. Anyone have a clue of what my monster is?????? :notsure:

Nope. Looks exactly like my marvelous drawing. It stands on the 5(6) bottom legs, then stretches down to the rock and grabs with the top "antennae", lets go with the "feet", and moves the "feet" up to the antennae, then does it over again. Like... _ Ω _ Ω

Not quite, but upon further clicking on the web site the beastie has been identified. Thank you Spanko. :cheer: It is a Skeleton Shrimp.

Turns out your drawing was almost dead on :joy: . Cool looking shrimp, straight out of men in black.
