Another White Spot Question

I have these white spots on the back glass of my tank. It is just on the back, not on the sides or the front. The back is painted black so that may why they just go there. Anyway, they are small maybe a 1/16" in diameter and they don't move but they are multiplying. They are too small to make out any description. The snails are not interested in them either. Does anyone have any ideas what these could be? I have a whole bunch of real tiny ones (head of a pin size) that do stick to the front and side glass, but these move around. :notsure:
Thanks,
Bruce

How old is your tank? in mature tanks there are diff types of spots. i have some that begin as spots and then spiral, those are flatworms, harmless. then sometimes my snails go on a mating frenzy and lay hundreds of eggs all over the glass, harmless. and the tiny pinhead sized ones are copepods, they are a sign of a good tank. they are harmless as well. you can do a search on them and find out alot about them. if you can take a picture of it, it would be very helpful. also, try looking here.

Thanks folks. My tank is about 4 months old. I was able to get a closer look today at one of the bigger ones. I think they are Spirorbid worms.

In Bob Fenner's new book on inverts, he say's that if these Spirorbid worms are allowed to bloom, they may be difficult to control. Should I nip this in the bud now? Is there something to take care of it? If I knock them off of the glass, will the janitors take care of it?
Thanks,
Bruce

I've had a big outbreak of these as well, I'm just one month behind you Bacffin, a little over 3 months in. I would also like to know how to control them...

They are not bothering me. I just want to keep abreast of what is in and going on in my tank. This is my first attempt at salt water so I'm still learning.
