i dont have one on mine, but I dont really have to much in it. what is in yours? I just have a very thin sand bed, and some generic decorations, for the fish t hide in. I have a filter, and a heater. that is it. Ive never lost a fish in it. Mine is about 25 gallons.

If you use any meds in the tank it'll probably disrupt the skimmer. Then it'll just fill with water and spit bubbles into the tank.
