Answer this...Is rain water the way to go

I am with my friend right now and he is telling me rain water is the best water you can use for both FW/ and SW tanks? I am telling him RO/DI water is the best...any ideas or suggestions?:notsure:

Ever heard the term acid rain? Rain water is FULL of nasties. Spores, chemicals, acids, phosphates, dirt, ash, you name it.
If you are not convinced (or your friend) collect a bucket and test the pH and get a TDS (total disolved solids) meter and I am sure you'll find rain water is far from ideal.

thank you guys for your comments....My friend just wouldnt believe me, I was about to hit him...Lol...I told him acid rain and all the pollutants and such but he doesnt know ne thing...LOL thanks again!
