Anthias Question

I got a Disbar Anthias today and it has been hiding in the rocks in this one area and hasn't really moved. Is this thier behavior or is this because he is new? Do they swim around or hide?

Every Anthias I've ever had took a while to get used to the new tank....give him some time. Most Anthias need to be fed more frequently than most fish, so try little feedings throughout the day. They're plankton eaters; IMO, frozen mysiss would be a good choice for first food. He should become quite active in time. All this jabber of mine assumes he has enough room and suitable tankmates.

My anthias love cyclopeeze, and was the first thing i could get him to eat, now he eats everything, but still goes nuts when i feed the corals cyclopeeze.

Thanks for the reminder about Cyclop-eeze-this is a great product, for corals and finicky or new fish. I have some in the back of my freezer; but you can get it freeze-dried or in wafers as well. (I think).

Yes your right but never did I have a fish that never moved from a spot when new. I assume they normally roam around right? They are not the hiding type?

OK so he has been coming to the front of the tank here and there which is better. Problem is everytime I approach the tank he hides in the back. I'm trying to feed him but he keeps hiding. He hasn't eaten yet. Will he die?
