I'm starting to put my stock list together for my 215 and thinking about adding several Anthias, which are the best for a 215g mixed reef tank, are there limits to how many and which ones are compatible with ech other?

Ok this is what I know about anthias. Theyre schooling fish. If you want that effect in your tank, I would keep 1 male and about 3 females. If I were you I would get some lyretails, just because personally I love the colors on them and theyre reef safe.

Anthias need lot's of free-floating food. A mature, productive refugium is key to keeping many of the species successfully.
Anthias need more often feedings than many other reef fish and are considered more difficult to keep.

I was kinda aware of the feeding issue and was going to wait several months, I'm trying to put a lot of research into each addition to the tank.

The easiest of the anthias are bartletts and lyretails since both eats just about anything.
I like to start with the more docile and fragile first before adding even semi-aggressive species. For instance,I have 15 anthias in my 210g,7 different species.I started with evansi because they are docile and difficult to get eating then moved on from there. Most definitely, lyretails should be last because males can be boogers.

my lyretails did great and ate like pigs (only frozen mysis and plankton type food at first, then prime reef flakes). not a single loss (well until the tank broke). three females and a male. Key is getting them before the aggressive fish which is kind of the dilema since you want to add them to a sort of established tank. I ended up taking my tangs out for a week (by neccessity), re-aquascaping then adding them back after the anthias established themselves. bartletts are hardy too, some might say prettier than lyretail. the rest are a step below in the hardyness department though doable (square spot, pictilis to name a few).
