Certain species do better in dimmer lighting. Some species are fine in reef tanks.
Anthias, for the most part, are planktonic feeders. They need a productive refugium producing constant food. They also like to be fed throughout the day.

I have a tri-color anthias in my 55g tank. it does fine under the lights i have. 2x 250 mh.
It also gets fed like all the other fish in the tank., once a day except Friday. No feedings on Friday. Its color is bright orange, healthy & very active... the anthias has doubled in size & i've had it for over 6 months.
Now mind you, this is a Tri-color, I can't speak on behalf of any other anthias..
