Anthis are "reef fish" They are very reef safe.. However.. They are very difficult to keep unless you have several in tank.. (more than 3). They are social fish and interact with eachother. The down side is they have to eat alot. They MUST be fed a minium of 2 times a day and they have a very healthy appatite. Some will not eat certain foods they can be very picky. If you put the time and care in for them they will live long healthy lives. Also rember the more you feed the more waste you have keep an eye on nitrates!
Good luck.. By the way check out.. www.aquaescape.com in this 180 gallon tank he has about 7 anthias.. hard to see in pic but they are there.. He does not sell on the internet and I am not trying to give him business.. Just check out the pics..

I had a flame anthia for six weeks. It was a beautiful fish - we called it lipstick - because it was a coral color with red lips. But it was a very curious fish and it just disappeared one day. My carpet anenome is my main suspect. Anyway, they are reef safe.

would my 29g be too small to keep two or three? i am planning to get a 100g in a couple months but i was wanting to use it as an aggresive. i would really like some anthias though so i might rethink that if my 29 is too small.
their only other tank mate would be a perc clown, and various corals. thanks.

Sorry to say but yes your 29 is too small.. The fact that you have to feed them so much in a small tank would but too much load on the enviroment of the tank.. unless..... you have lots of live rock and it has been established for a while and thats the only fish you put in there..
