Well today was the toys for tots run in philly. Beautiful day for a ride weather was perfect, wind was blowing sun was out it was simply nice as shiot outside. It was a nice run, gave some kids some toys and was on my way home with four other riders. Went to get on the I95 ramp which was a turn, and wam hit a big ass patch of some kind of oil. Me and my girlfriend went down doin about 30. i have a bunch of rash on my right leg and my girl actually got away without anything at all but a dirty pair of pants. My buddy actually almost fell when he walked on the patch of oil. my bike somehow got away with only minor scrathes. my rear left turn signal is broke, my left passenger foot peg is scrathed, left hand grip is scratched, one of my risers is bent, and my heel toe shifter(which got the worst of it) is really bent to hell. i was able to ride it to the bar though. just wanted to share my story.

Sorry to hear of the accident its sucks when you go down. I have been there and done that. Good to hear that you or your girlfriend wasnt hurt to bad. What kind of bike do you have? How did your right leg get road rash if the bike went down on the left side???

I laid my first bike down, and the road rash burned like HELL!!! Didn't go to the hospital though...you know what they DO to roadrash in the hospital!?!? No way, not for me!! I'll take my chance with infection!
Anyway, I was going real fast trying to catch up with the expert rider, my brother and he turned down a side street I didn't even see til the last moment, I hit my brakes...hard, or rather, my front brake (don't ask, it was a bad habit...back then) and you can imagine what happened after that.
Neosporin with pain reliever works wonders!!

I was going down the road doing 45mph. There was a van stopped in the road with no brake lights or directionals on. I was going to blow right past them but I didn't want to be a

. I was trying to figure if the van was moving or not. I was like ---- this van is not moving. I clipped the rear drivers side of the van. I clipped my knee between the bike and the van. I layed on the ground moves my toes and arms. Luckly I was fine. I layed there and was like DAMN... The guy stode over me and said " I hope you have insurance. The guy told police he was making a left hand turn. If he took a left, he would of went over a curb.
My insurance went up and the bike was totaled..
My Girlfriend was at a T in the road. She stopped at the stop sign and took a right. The 2nd building over is a Dunkin Donuts. Her directional was still on. A Officer saw the directional on and pulled out. She dumped her bike only bending her foot peg. The town payed for the damage. No accident report done. Cost $40 for the peg.

Were her pants dirty from the oil....or from crapping herself because you wrecked? :) Only kidding...but it sounded funny when I read your description...
Glad you're OK...bikes can be fixed/replaced, people can not!

I'm tellin' ya, put some of that neosporin plus on the road rash. Completely eliminates the burn.

mine's a cheesy mistake. i'd bought this cbr600 that a friend of a friend had been adding various performance parts to. he lost interest after he couldn't get it dialed in straight to run. it sat for 2yrs in his garage before he let it go to me due to a move. it took me a year to get the fuel system dialed in straight and one day it magically purred. i took it out to the parking lot of my apt. complex and was revving it up, everything seemed fine. put it in gear, revved a bit and the clutch cable snapped. i wheelied between two cars and crashed into the privacy fence on the edge of the lot.
i guess in the year it had been sitting under the porch while i worked on it the fitting was leaking water into the rubber coating and rusting the cable. maybe the previous owner didn't have it garaged always like he said.
anyways my adrenaline was going, i picked up the bike and pushed it back to the apt. sold it the next day and decided a new bike is cheaper than parts failure resulting in hospitals.
