Any advice on Firefish Gobies?

I'm thinkin about gettin a Firefish Goby for my 30 gallon tank.If anyone has some advice for me or some do's and dont's let me know. thanks for your help. :yes:

well i dont own one but one DO is have a top on the tank. Pet Supplies Plus lost one, it was sad.

Hi i have 6 fire fish in my display,3 purple,3red i guess they are called,i would say make sure the top of the tank is completly covered,also have some live rock for them to retreat too if they feal threatened,as they are kind of skitsish:D

ya ive got the live rock and an established tank i was just wondering if any one had had some bad expierinces with them.

I had both a regular and a purple firefish in my 75g reef before my house caught fire. A week after putting them both in, they formed a bond. They were inseparable. If one turned right, so did the other. The seemed to do best that way as opposed to when the regular one was by himself. just a side note.

We have a new fire fish goby, and he is so much fun to watch.He has taken over our sunken ship, and chases everyone else away from his new house.

As already mentioned, make sure you have no openings at the top of the tank. I had just a 2 inch by 8 inch slot at the back of my canopy where the overflow tube went thru and Richard managed to find it and jumped. I tried to convince myself that there was no way he could have found that opening and that he just died and the crabs got him..... Found his little dried up carcas under the sump about a month later!
