Any coral that can fight Xenia?

I cant keep my xenia from growing madly. On the plus side I sell it to my swf store, but it seems to grow overnight? It has even killed my star polyps. I would like to have more varieties of coral but the xenia seem to take over anything other than my leathers ,shrooms and zoos. Is there any corals that will stand thier own to the xenia? lps mabee?

Really? I really like them too! I'll try putting a frag in! I just cant believe they killed my gsp. they were always indestructable...so I thought?

I hate you!!! I have tried to grow Xenias and pulsing Xenias for over a year by now. On the other hand a frind of mind had the same problem and all he needed to do was to get brighter light to keep the population down.

Xenia likes the cooler temps...bet you keep your tank around 78...heat it up to 82 to 84 and the coral will slow down while the warmer temps are great for the other coral.
Your fish will be healthier too.

frogspawn will kill it when it touches it that is what i am doing right now keeping at bay.. Got tired of the stink on my hands after fraging it .. that stuff stinks BAD!!

HAHAHA! Well you won't believe this but my tank is about 81 degrees and I just put new bulbs in and a new skimmer last week and its still growing but not as much! I have noticed it pulsing more lately do to the better water quality! I hope this doesn't mean more xenia!

Some lps are pretty good at killing other corals. Like hammer, frogspawn, acans, duncans, etc...my 4" acan colony fell into a colony of my xenia. The xenia died in two days. But a week later they started to grow back. LOL xenia is one tough cookie. I even tried slicing it up wit my razor blade. Did not work.

Why would fish be "healthier" at 82-84 than 78?

Well the xenia seem to be growing less with this new skimmer yah! No more 20 ppm nitrates for them to thrive with! I really do like them...don't get me wrong....just another saltwater mystery! You never know?
