Well either me or Lil Tanker are going to set up my 10g for a pair of dart frogs. I've read a lot about them and love the pics of the vivariums and frogs.
Anyone got a vivarium going? Pics? Stories?

They are probably more active than fish. Only thing you have to do is give them food, change the water(unless you get a filter), and mist the plants and stuff down if you don't have a glass top.

I just skimmed the title and thought it said "dog fart" not "dart frog"!!!!!!!!

My cousin just bought 2 for her boyfriend for his birthday. They're really cute! They live in a 30 gallon, so they are thinking about getting some more to increase the chance that they'll breed. They're really easy to take care of and they are pretty active...although they bought the frogs a little 1/2 coconut hut and they love it in there, so they don't come out as much now. My cousin put a whole bunch of plants in there and it looks really great.
They also have them in the greenhouse I volunteer at. They go crazy when you put the fruit flies in there, it's pretty sweet to watch.
The kind my cousin has looks like this: http://tinyurl.com/3885x9 (they have a blue one and a green one)
The kind at the greenhouse on the UW campus looks like this: http://tinyurl.com/3b5u54

If you are still interested let me know and I will see fi I can help you oout with some answers.
garnet13aj _ tell your cousin that mixing of different dart frogs is a very very bad thing to do and usually ends up with the death of one of them. Also corss breeding is very frowned upon

Are these the frogs that secrete poison through their skin? I always thought they were awesome. I had no idea that they can be kept. Can you send me a link to some good info on them?

Well dart frogs are poison through eating a certian kind of ants, so they lose their poisin in captivity.

Even better. Not so much the poisonus part i was thinking was awesome. I dunno dieing from sticking my hand in to feed and bumping my frog seems like it would be a bit counter productive.

Some great people there

Yeah they loose their toxins in captivity and CB ones are completely safe.
I have right now I think about 36 that are mine and about 110 tads and froglets. And 3 years later i am still kicking so they are safe
