Any good salt water sites?

Does anyone know of any good salt water fish sites where you can get a good deal?
Now that that is out of my system. It seems to me that many people have been asking for references to other fish related sites lately. Then of course the threads get locked out. Why don't they realize something first. SWF.com is a retail site first, and a message board second. How else do you think they pay for they the bills that are used for the bandwith for this message board?
I believe the main goal of this site, as with any business, is to post a profit. How would you feel if you ran Joe's radiator shop and then was asked for information on your website about Al's radiator shop? Well if I was Joe I would not like it very much.
I have learned much information from this site. More than I learned from my lfs. I have also placed an order from this site. I feel that is what the message board is ulitmately for; First you learn some information about salt water tanks and also learn about swf.com. Then when you need something you will order it from swf.com.
Well I am running out of steam and my soapbox is starting to sag on me. I think I bette get off it before I fall off it.

Good point....thats why me and the other mods are paid multi hundreds of thousands...just to locate and lock threads that mention other sites!!!
just joking of course....sadly we don't get paid!!
But I do personally like the fact that this site is free from the constant influence of advertisements and solicitations that are common on other boards. True...we are limited in the links we can post for competative reasons...but I kind of like that.Besides if you decide to shop someplace else...all it takes is a simple search...no need to discuss it here and violate board policy. Some times I wonder why that is so very difficult for some folks to understand.

i am planning a purchase from this site just because of this board
and for the same reason - i have paid more at lfs for stuff i could of gotten cheaper else where because of their help - and I trust them
but I would like to know the web sites of other good boards/forums
(as if I need another site to spend too much time on!!)
if anyone would like to pass that info I would appreciate it

SWF needs to keep more stock on corals... Seems like their always out of stock.

I have and will continue to purchase what I need from swf.com as long as they have it!! I compare prices everytime I go to buy and have yet to find a better deal than swf.com has on the things I have purchased. Not sucking up... compare for yourself

I agree with what you say. It is just that I have noticed lately that there have been many people asking for information that could lead to posting a competitors site here. As all of us know who have been here awhile this is a big no-no. Hey this is swf.com's site so we play by their rules. My post was meant more in jest about the people posting and asking for information about other sites. Hence the title of the thread. If someone wants information about additiona information all they have to do is a google search. That is how I found this site.
Also if anyone wants swf.com to improve their stock, or add additional items all you have to do is e-mail them. I have done that a couple of times and I have gotten a response within one day.
I did not mean to sound heavy handed in my post. Trust me you will know when I am pi$$%d off. I was trying to add a little levity to my post. Therefore the soapbox reference. I just appreciate this site and I completly understand why they would not want a competitors information posted on this site.
One thing that would help this situation is if they made a sticky thread about the rules of this site so that people understand it from the beginning.
Sorry about any typos on this post. My fingers do not seem to be working today.
Well my soap box is really buckling now and I am afraid that I will break it soon.

Seriously though - If you believe in a site or store then patronize that store.
If you hate DeadCo - then quit yer complaining and stop shopping there .....
Now - question for SWF.com - how muc his that snail pack you have advertised?? It is not on the buying page .....
Lastly - if you do have a good experience buying here then go to some "other" boards and go into the review section and post a postive review of your expereince. Figure it is the least one can do as a thank you for the board ....

Hey roland - I was referring to boards with vendor experience sections .... since there are two other boards I frequent (well three really) and two have vendor experience sections - when something good happens I report it ....

I don't think swf.com's goal is to be the biggest, baddest reef board on the net .... i think there goal is to sell stuff!!

i love this place- i only wish they carried more corals- if they did i would order here all the time- also have rere variets with actual pics of the coral you will but is a definate plus- i would help ouy buisness im sure!
