I'll bet he's glad he was armed and not a defenseless victim. And I bet the thief has serious reservations about car jacking next time. Also, as far as the cost of ammo, I hadn't bought ammo in 12 years or so, so I replenished my 7.62x39, .357 and 380 ammo last month. I was pleasantly surprised. I belong to one other forum, a Dodge forum, and there are alot of guys there saying how scarce and expensive ammo had become. I bought from cheaperthansoil.com and paid the same for the 7.62 and LESS for the 380 and .357 (both hollow point) than I did in 1998 when I last bought some. Did the price and availibility of ammo get crazy and I missed it?
Hey, I applaud the guy for standing up to the sleaze ball. The only issue I had with the situation is after he drew his gun, the guy apparently started to run off. Instead of grabbing his cell phone and calling the cops, he decided to take matters into his own hands, and starts shooting at the guy to try and stop him. This is in the middle of a public parking lot with several innocent bystanders walking around. The outcome could've been much worse, with the possibilty of him shooting someone that had nothing to do with the situation. So ironically instead of being a hero, he'd end up getting charged with attempted murder or murder if he shot someone besides the jerk.
Where were you when all the hullaballoo started with people thinking Obama was going to modify the 2nd Amendment to outlaw certain weapons? When that hit the news, every gun fanatic across the country started the rumors that certain ammo wouldn't be produced anymore, and the rush was on. I remember when this started, I was at Academy looking at a new firearm in the gun section. I watched this guy talking on his cell phone, and he was telling some guy the inventory of ammo at the store. A buddy was with him, and they start saying how Fred is at D-i-c-k-s Sporting Goods, John was at Bass Pro Shops, and Tim was at a gun shop on Bandera (a local highway). Apparently they were going to corner the market on .223 ammo, which is the primary load for most of these 'assault weapons' Obama was supposedly going to get banned. Interesting how that never came about.
