any have experience with hellolights or ahsupply?

any one here have any experience with either of these lights im looking into getting either 48inch 3bulb vho or a 4x55w pc im not sure just yet i know the three vho would be more watts but it would be about 50$ more in bulbs a year and i think i like pc's better although i havent seen too many different tanks wiht vho

i have no personal experience, but i've heard nothing but good things about both. hellolights.com has really good prices on their 10000K ushio bulbs

I recently purchased a 2 bulb 96 watt VHO set up from hellolights and every thing was great. Including the price. On thing about them is they give you a little break on the first set of bulbs(off their reg. price.) If you want the VHOs dont hesitate to shop with them.

I have bought a VHO set and a PC set from them. Both have been excellent. I think that the PC would cost you more in the long run b/c the bulbs are like 25-30 each times 4 versus 25 each times 3 for the VHO.

Count me as another happy hellolights.com customer. The lights look great (my neighbors could tell as soon as I plugged them in, lol), they were reasonably priced, they were easy to install (got the plug-in retro kit) and they arrived very quickly.

Last week I gor a Brite Kit 2 and 2 55W PC lights for A H Supply, and they are just great. Built a hood and they are on the tank now. I would order from them again.
I have not dealt with HelloLights, but I have heard nothing but good about them. I would not be afraid to try them either.

thanks now all there is to decide is between vho or pc they both end up costing the same because vho bulbs are suppose to be replaced 6-8 months from what hellolights told me and pc 12-14months im just waiting to see some tanks to decide wich i like better

I bought a 4 x 55w retro kit from them a few months back and everything was great. I dealt with James and he gave me the retro kit for $240 shipped. I would buy from them again anytime.

Bought two 55W PC kits (2 ballasts) from AH Supply. They sent me the 2x55W kit (1 ballast). They were very apologetic and quickly sent me the right gear.
I found the instructions difficult to follow (and I'm an engineer!), but got the lights working on the first shot.
Over all I am pleased with the lights and the money I saved going DIY.

Holy Nuclear Reaction, Chainsaw - it looked like aliens had landed in my living room <img src="graemlins//eek.gif" border="0" alt="[eek]" /> ! My friendly neighborhood nuclear plant (Millstone) had to bring another reactor on-line! My whole downstairs lit up, so I had to put a black background on the back of the tank because so much light was reflecting off of the wall behind the tank. As someone posted a day or 2 ago - when I open my canopy, neighbors 4 houses down can tell . . .
but boy does my tank look great

I got VHO retro from HelloLights and couldn't be more pleased with it. I don't know why they said to change the VHOs every 6-8 months. Their ballast is electronic and from what I've always read on this board is bulbs last 12 months on an electronic ballast.

I bought my 4-110watt VHOs through hellolights and my 96 watt PC from AHSupply! Both had great customer service and the lights are great. I recommend both highly!

I've been shopping around looking for the cheapest
deal for 440 watts so far what I've found is
Ice cap 660 which is VHO. What I've read so is that your supposed to change bulbs with a regular VHO ballast every 4-6 months but if you have a electronic ballast every 9-12 months.
BY the way ice cap is electronic.
