Ive seen some posts of kids on this site. I myself am 17 and a Junior. I Think this hobby is cool but I cant seem to find to many youngins my age in this hobby yo chat with. I think its the money issue.
tell me how old ya are and whats crapenin

There's a lot of youngins on this board that know a lot about this hobby, and have provided me with some very beneficial advice. I myself am now 24 and have been a fish nerd since I was eight. Best of luck to ya!

Hey Travis,
Im 19, at University in England. Ive been keeping marines for a year now and tropicals for 4 years. Its not hugely popular in this country amongst the younger generation, mainly because of the money, over here things are literally 3 times more expensive, e.g. Live Rock is $20/lb and Hermit crabs are $12 each! SO you can appreciate why some people dont do it over here! However it is growing in popularity!

Yeah your right, there doesnt seem to be many people of the younger variety on this board. I myself am 16. Ive been keeping fish since I was about 6 and I now have well over 14 tanks. I just setup "the beast" (a 240 gallon fowlr) a few weeks ago. I also have a 150 gallon reef tank. Your right the money issue does kinda suck but luckily a few months ago i got a job as the head of the fish department at my local lfs which really helps out with tossin me a few extra bones (money for all you geriatrics out there haha). Well i gotta go so ill catch ya'll later, keep up the good work!

yeah I am 17 and I have a job at the local gas station............7.75 an hour.......not bad considering im in high school and get around 30 hours a week
so it all adds up

I am also 14 and why the heck u call your selfs fish nerds? I mean unless you look at fish pics at school and stuff lol. I have gurrented jobs at 2 lfs have to see which has better pay and discounts!:D :cool:

nothing wrong with being a fish nerd.........my girlfriend calls me a fish nerd but I always catch her staring at my tank
so fish nerds=cool people

16 also....i want my tank up darn it!! lol darn remodeling....oh well.. get a bigger room :D Trade offs *shrugs* can't live with em' but could live ALOT better with out them ;) lol Later

20 years old here, only had my tank for 3 weeks though. You think its hard finding money in high school, try living out during college. Its hard to afford fish when they keep charging me for alcohol.

aww...guess I'm a real fish nerd. My fourth period consists of looking at fish :(
