any idea what this is??

dont have a clue what this is. anybody have any ideas??? it is about 1 inch around, it does eat. it grabs food like a brine shrimp, pulls it in and eats

i thought that too, but this thing actually moves it self. i dont mean unattach itself and float to the new spot. i mean it crawls, it can move about 6 inchs in a little over a hour. i have other ricordia
mushrooms and they dont move that fast. if you still think its a ricordia, what kind is it? thanks

They are related to anemones and have the ability to move on their own- i dont know the species name for that certain one but it would be in the Rhodactis genus

i have done a web search using all the suggestions you have listed, none really match but i thank you. something else, when i accedently touched one time the center of it felt very sticky not slimey

I believe genus Rhodactis is correct.They move till they find a good spot and stay indefinitly
