Any martial artists in the house?

Very awesome, I think all kids should go through Martial Arts.
Personally, I did the karate (tang so do) when I was a kid but as an adult I've studied Tai Chi, Shaolin Boxing, and was enrolled in a local kung fu/wushu (changquan style) school for several years and was hoping to train to master level. Unfortunately the job I had to take in the fall after getting laid off from my previous employer has hours that I could no longer go to practice and I have to admit, I've gotten "soft" since then.

That's what we think, too. It's an investment in her future. She actually chose martial arts over girl scouts. It's helped her in every aspect of her young life. She may not be the best player on her soccer team, but she can take hits that put other kids in the dirt.

Bradley Academy in Lancaster, Pa. Master Bradley apparently taught Chuck Norris before ol' Chuck created his own style.... not that it's much of a selling point on any martial arts school.

I'm more into Chinese Martial Arts now, and am just about to start back up after 6 months off due to crazy work schedules.

You can....there are several Gracie's teaching...granted you'll not have the chance to with carlson as he is in the great bjj heaven, but in all honesty gracie jj is not all that great IMO, as other people have expanded on it. If you are serious about it, look into some of the other great camps out there.

I would much rather roll with eddie bravo than any of the gracies .

I took it for about 10 years, taught for 4 of them. I loved it, just when I left things were really starting to get good with trainning. I had the opportunity to train in some Krav towards the end and some Jeet Kun Do too. Those 2 were my favorite styles to learn, but the school started to go down hill because the original owners sold it. I left shortly after that, things got ugly. I hope my daughter wants to get into it when shes older it would be cool to see.
