Any MRC1 skimmer users out there? Questions regaurding pump?

I am running an MRC1 right now and due to not having the area under my stand to run an external PR pump, I am running a MAG12. Its skimming nicely but was curious if it would be total overkill to go to a mag 18? My concern is to much water flow and not enough air but also heat from the 12 to the 18?
My skimmer is a single injector and not a double.
Anyone running any Beckett skimmers with an internal pump and is it working for you? Suggestions?

Wouldn't be overkill IMO, because Mags really aren't pressure rated pumps as need to drive the becketts to their fullest...If the skimmer is producing good why mess with it.....You can swap the 12 for the 18 and if to much feed you can dial it back with a ball valve if you choose.
