I just started getting my cured LR and was wondering if any special type of lighting is needed?
Its gonna be a FOWLR.
My tank is a 210 - 72x24x31
I have the normal aga lights that come standard with the tank.
2-36" flor 25w each
2-24" flor 15w each
so 80w total
do I need more for LR?

normal lights are fine for fish, inverts and lr. You'll only need to upgrade lights if you go reef.

Can you grow coralline with the standard lights? I can't get any to grow in my seahorse tank. My calcium is 470, and I've tried kalk and purple up, as well as putting in a piece of LR
that already has tons of coralline, but it won't spread.

The tank is beneath a window, it grows very slowly with the artificial lighting which I dont mind since its an acrylic tank but if I open the window shades a little within a week its growing like mad. Besides phosphate ( which no one wants ) Ive found it to be very receptive to natural sunlight.

alyssia, get a new toothbrush, and gently rub the coral line you have with the tooth brush...that and kalk worked for us....no clue where calicum should be though...
try running your lights for longer?

I guess it could, but if your tank is new it is probably diatoms.
