Can someone let me know what this may possibly be? These lacey spiderweb looking things are in both of the side wells where the intake and outflow pipes are.

Looks like a sponge to me. They are good..

It is definitely not a starfish. It may be a sponge as Midas suggested. But I don't have any sponges that look like this inside the tank. Only yellow ball and orange sponges. They don't move, but it does grow. Within a week's time from a small speak it will be at least 2 inches in circumference.

I actualy had some of this growing in my cheato and also around my return pump in my fuge.
I never figured out waht it was, but I didnt like it so I removed it all. This was probably 8-10 months ago and I havent seen any more since.
Im sure its related to nutrient levels and I always thought it was some type of sponge but thought it started to get invasive.

Nah thats not it. Syconoid are pineapple sponges and are beneficial. These things he has and I used to have are not attractive.
