Anybody have an Idaho grape monti cap...

that's actually purple??
Mine is brown.
I wanna know where a nice purple one is kept in the tank. High or low?
I know monti caps don't have much polyp extension very high up, so I put mine low, but I wonder if it needs higher light.

here you go Tizzo!
Mine actually started super dark purple and lightened up some because it was under less intense lighting when I got it. its high up under my 2x150w 10k aqualine abs.

Wow! That's beautiful! I thought it was the polyps that were supposed to be purple but it seems yours is all purple. Now I wonder if I got stuck with a brown monti.

OK then, up high it goes...

the idaho grape is purple with blue polyps. its tough to tell in this pic, but the polyps are blue.
its in a high light high flow area.

Well you got half of it!! It was a trade, I think. Oh yeah, a pocillopora trade. Anyway, is YOURS coloring up Grouper?

Unfortunately....no. It fell off the rockwork and under the rack.

I do have a good size green cap with purple rim I have to pick up this week.

Can't your turkey baster it out? Ya know, blow it toward the edge then pick it up?
Green cap, purple rim? I bought one of those from john, had it 3 days then lost it behind my rockwork.

I looked and looked and looked... I can' find it.

Very nice Tizzo!! Its not so bad to have a poor colored free frag when you have that super bright green polyped one that is doing just fine...
But I wont mention that mine was free from xenia trade-ins... (oops
)
I have one of those purple rimmed green ones and it is NICE! growing super fast!
