oh!, a year ago my class went on a 3 day field trip to D.C., and aparently there was this house and the down stairs was a small hospital, where numerous soldiers died, and stuff in the room would just move.. it was really creepy, and there is this battlefield and whenever you try to take a picture or video.. your camera just breaks.. i went through 2 digital cameras trying to get a pic.. my camera just broke.., and a movie company tried to make a movie on that battelground.. and they went through 10 videocameras before they figured out they couldn't make the movie..

McPike Mansion in downtown Alton, IL is a very strange place. My wife and I went on a tour through it (they are in the process of doing a huge renovation) and I saw things I hope to never see again. The lady who gave us a tour did a seance in the basement cellar (which was pitch black) and I kid you not we saw a greyish figure appear before us and it faced my wife and she started to sob instantly...
Look the place up on the web.

This is really a cool thread... all these creepy places! I grew up in NY, in a house built in the 1800's, and I distinctly remember being in the basement, talking to a lady in a dress and trying to see into her pram (I was too short to look into it, kinda had to stand on tippy toes to see to the top of it)... I remember the dark purple velvet it was covered in, and the shiny metal of the frame and the white wheels. I don't remember what exactly the lady was dressed in, but of course neither she nor the buggy were actually there. I don't ever remember being scared of her, only curious because I wanted to see her baby.

OK I can tell you about my personal experineces with ghosts. About 20 yrs ago, I was dating my girlfriend (whom I eventually married) and I took her out to dinner at a well-known haunted restaurant called The Beardslee Manor in Little Falls, NY. After dinner and awaiting the check to arrive, I excused myself to use the restroom. The restroom was located upstairs by the foyer area. As I went into the men's room, and stood in front of the urinal doing my "deed" and a chill went thru my body as if some one was in the same restroom with me (no one else is in the next stall). Needless to say I got abit freaked out and hurried the h*** out of the restroom. As I exited the restroom I looked to my left on the wall I literally jumped out of my shoes and saw a huge taxidermy Moose head with a full rack. Now I know it was not on that wall when I went up the stairs to head to the men's room. I wasn't in the men's room no more than 2 minutes and that moose head was pretty high up on the wall, too. I sure was spooked about that incident and got my dinner bill paid for and scrammed outta there !! This still gives me goosebumps to this day.
Do a search on Beardslee Manor Restaurant in Little Falls, NY and you will find some interesting stories of paranormal activities there.

ice ice funny you mentioned beardslee castle. if you want a real scare go up in the woods to the tomb. do you know the story of mr. beardslee and his son? anyway long story made short a long time of go his son took off in the woods and never came back. mr. beardslee every night went looking for him in the woods with a lantern but never found him. mr beardsly built a tomb in the woods for his son. mr. beardsly eventually died and rumor has it it became hunted. rumor had it from the locals that everynight they kept seeing things, im a local live about 20 min away. people were so scared to go up in the woods blah blah blah. anyways me and some friends 1 night went to go find his sons tomb. the 1 kid was going to take a piece of the tomb to prove to people we were there. so we found it and the kid found a piece that had names on it. all of a sudden we heard something looked over and about 100 yards away we seen this little light coming toward us. as it got closer it was a man in like a white sleeping pajamas like a nightgown type thing holding a lantern. we all took off running and my friend that had the piece to the tomb said he felt 2 hands on his back and pushed him off a little embanckment. he broke his arm and the piece of the tomb he had in the bag was gone. we never found it or went back to try to find it. crazy right? did you know about the tomb in the woods
ps. the tomb was already destroyed when we were here so i dont want people to think we destroyed someones tomb that would be wrong and disrespectful.

naw, they do have good stories. and theres alot of them. chicken skin is what they call them. I dont remember too much about the place either I moved away when I was 13 and I spent most of my recreation time on base since I couldnt drive. Every now and then I would take the bus to pearl kai or waikiki and go to the shops down there. I love haggling with the market guys. I haggled a guy down to 8 from 15 and I started walking away so he puts the haggled item in my pocket and demands his 8 dollars. I felt violated. But thats funny you mention king kamehameha becasue the houseing division I lived in was called fort kamehameha (aka: fort kam) housing and in my experience that was the only haunted house we had while in hawaii and I lived in probally 5 different houses while I lived there. Most of them being temporary lodging facilities.

Yes. I've heard stories about the tomb and all. There was also stories of people driving on Rt.5 at night that said they saw a ghost carrying a lantern on the side of the road. I'm assuming you're from the Little Falls area ...
