anybody use actuators on their canopy?

gonna build a canopy for my tank this weekend and was wonderig if anybody has used actuators (the kind you find on hatchbacks) to hold the front lid up? Found some pretty cheap ones at the local auto shop but seem a little too strong. Let me know. Thanks for any info.

I don't know of anybody or anywhere I've seen it, it would be cool but you don't need it to malfunction when you have your head or hands in it..:nervous:

got it done and works like a champ! part cost $10 bucks. No electrics just a plain little sturt that holds the lid up since I couldn't have the lid all the way up.
