Cal Ripken is on the team? How did I miss that? It kind of ticks me off how Americans are playing on other teams. I know arod isn't playing. But he wouldn't be playing for the USA. I can understand if you wouldn't make the american team. But someone like Arod would have been starting.

He played for the U.S. last time, I never heard that he was planning to play for the Dominican, he whined about what a tough decision it was to get attention, but he would have played for the U.S.

I'm not watching but my wife works for our local cable company and has been stuck broadcasting it for the past few days. Her job is to make sure that what is supposed to air actually does air as well as dealing with the advertisements that go on the green screen behind home plate.

I guess it isn't that big of a deal. For instance, I'm a second gen American. My grandparents are from Mexico. So I'd be eligible to play for Mexico. But if I were as good as Alex. There is no way I'd play for Mexico. I'm an American. And it peeves me that people don't see themselves as an American. (maybe I'm reading too much into it) Now if I was some middle of the road player, I'd go play for Mexico if it meant me getting to play some baseball. Since I wasn't good enough to play for the American team.
