Just wondering how everyone did who was in the path of Ike? We got hit here in Columbus and that's pretty far from the main hit point. Lost power yesterday at 5pm and it just now came on, 24 hours without power and 3 fish tanks to take care of. Luckily I have a big generator so I was able to completely power the 150gal (minus the lights), then power a powerhead in each of the 2 smaller tanks, plus the refrigerator. All fish made it just fine, happy to have their lights back on.

Did you loose power? Last I checked there were over a million in Ohio without power.

yeah, not for very long though. probably about 20 minutes. the backup on my computer just beeped like we lost power, but the time on my alarm clock isnt reset, so i dont know what that was about. it might have just been really fast.

8-10" of rain here in Chicago, everything is flooded. It wasnt a direct hit from Ike, but Ike pushed a huge front right over us, rained for 36 hours.

didn't get hit by Ike but since I am in FL I have a back up plan for when we lose power because of storms, I have a battery backup for short term and a car battery and a DC to AC power inverter incase the power stays out for a while

Sorry to hear about your fish. What happened? Was it due to power outage?

We still do not have power, it's been out for five days now, been on generator power and the tank seems to be doing fine, we have left the power off at times when we left the house, but I hooked in a smaller generator now that I leave going full time. only issue I've had was the tank temp went down to 74 degress from the norm. 81, but I've got that takin care of and everything seems to be ok. I just hope the SPS corals make it thru this ok since they are more sensitive to temp changes.

we got hit here pretty bad in the Munster area, a home actually exploded last night. The school system has been shut down all week, I think they go back tomorrow. All in all i there is probably over 500 houses that were flooded with 5-6 feet of water from the little calumet river.

i live in Indiana and ike still had enough wind to make limbs and trees fall down here. the wind was so strong trees were bending and the howling was nuts outside my window.
