who likes stock. I had a 99 FRc and a 99 Trans am both went faster than that. Stock is for whimps. Make that bad boy fly. My buddy had a street race car z 28. Fully built motor spraying a 300 shot on top of his heads cam package. It was stupid when we rode in it.
Stock I can do 180mph +, corner at 1G, stop faster than 99% of everything else on the road, set the cruise at 75 while getting 28mpg.... and do that for 8 hours of in leather wrapped, air conditioned comfort with a factory warranty.
Sure a quarter mile monster is nice, but to build a 10 second car would degrade all of the other reasons I buy Corvettes.
Another words I want my cake and I want to eat it too...
Try cruising for 30 miles above a buck and a quarter in 110 degree heat with the AC on in a fully built motor spraying a 300 shot on top of his heads cam package, I have done it stock, turned around and did it again in the opposite direction.

You really have no idea how far technology has come then do you? Doing all that stock is nothing. There are people who have 650 to 1100 hp in their cars and can do it as well. Without zero fear of doing any motor damage or breaking down. Oh that Buddy of mine he runs 9's not 10's we drive every year to Ocean city from DC area which takes 3 hours. In that car doing 65 the entire way getting about 25 miles per gallon. Motor only about 450hp and with the spray about 730ish. He has over 100 passes on that motor many street races and 30,000 miles.
I know you love your corvette. I loved mine. They are the best bang for the buck out there. The new ls3 is a great motor. But There are plenty of 10 second vettes that do everything your car does. Thats having your cake and eating it too.

I understand Crypt, there are several members in our club that have 700 + HP corvettes, they always claim daily driver status but it's really pushing the issue. To many of them end up making monthly parts runs to keep them on the road.
note I said 700+ without nitrous!
I'm not a hard core racer but I've done road course events, autoX, twisty mountains, 1/4 mile, and open road runs. I can do each with just a tire pressure change and the wife can get in it to go get her hair done the next day. I still wear a perma-smile so it does what I want it to do!
Yeah stock sucks, but damn is it fun!

DONT SCREW WITH THY DAILY DRIVER!
Hehehe, someone needs to pick the jaw off the floor of the 350Z driver's I left the other day. He saw me having a little fun around a long entrance ramp (he was behind me getting on), so he got really close, so I knew it was on when we got to the highway. I shot to the left lane, he stayed on the right. Went from about 50 right when we got on to about 110 before we got to traffic. Never had a chance
, he lurched forward for a sec, but I just walked slowly away.
