well, my dad convinced me it would be a good idea for me to join his country club. I'm not the greatest golfer in the world but it could be fun so i did, and they were begging for members!! anyone belong and think it's worthi it????
Well Who Dey,
It all depends on the country club the fees the restrictions and how freq. you will and can play. My and husband and I are members of a big country club here and he plays golf all the time and I do when I can get a sitter for the kids. I do use the pool in the summer months alot. Now do I think it is worth it? I am not sure as it is over priced in my opinion but he sure gets the enjoyment out of it. So on that note it is worth to him....diffently reduces his stress level being to play golf right in our neighborhood because I dont b**ch as much since I am at the pool. Way out your options as to how often you play and if you were to play at a public course how much it would cost you and so on.
Tang man you gotta get out there. I mean if the golfers are smashing your windows you need to share the pain. I was actually out playing this morning for a meeting we were wondering who pays for broken windows? Golfer, Club, or Home owner. I will say that I smacked the roof of a house on the left side of the fairway today. I felt bad, especially since they had a huge net around their yard.
If golf balls hit our house..then we pay. That is the cost of living on a course. Happens all the time...we have however never had a broken window....yet
My girlfriend's parents have a house on a golf course. They did two things to make sure there would be no golf balls near their house:
1) They live off a tee box
2) They live on the left side of the course because most bad golfers slice
I guess it also helps that they are about 10 feet above the fairway and part of their yard is near a water hazard.
I don't many balls around my house and I have not lost a window or had any holes in my pool screen yet. I live on the left side of a par 5 about 400 yards from the tee box so everyone hits way short of my house. The course is a dogleg right so their next shot is usually perpendicular to my house or way right. I will usually find about 1 ball a week in my back yard, so that's not too bad.
The best part about living on the golf course is now I feel much better about my game. Just about everyone sucks as much as I do. I golf in the low 90's. No I take that back. The best part is the beer girl stops right behind my house waiting for the golfers to play through.
