I got pulled over one night by a bored cop for having a front headlight out. Anyway, this was on the way home from the computer lab (2 tests and a 50 page paper worth 1/2 my grade in this class) I live literally .5 a mile from the lab. Anyway I worked full time in school so for the last week my schedule was litterally up at 6 study, go to class at 8 till 2 work till 8 then computer lab till 3 or so in the morning then back home. So my eyes were bloodshot, I had slurred speech, and was really really drowzy. So this cop pulls me over. And I'm sitting there thinking man this cop smells like beer. Apearantly this cop thought so too. And of course asked me if I'd been drinking. I told him no, but then he asked to give me a sobriety test. Which I promptly failed. I couldn't follow his pen for the life of me, I was sooo tired.
Fortunately he let me go, but I would have killed someone if I had to go down to the department to do a blow test.
BTW the easiest way to get out of a ticket is call up a lawer and get him to delay the court date till he KNOWs the cop isn't gonna be there.
That's hilarious!!!!

I dotn know if its been said or not but go to court and ask for a civil penalty it will stay off your record as long as you dont get another ticket within a set time most states have this now. also is a automatic slow down in work zones but if the fine was only 150.00 then they didnt do the normal double fine in work zone.

yeah the fine was doubled which is why it was $150.00. I would rather have the points than pay the money! I dont think our state even does points. In Vermont where I received the tickets, it was 2 points. Right now with fuel so high, cost of living is higher, this ticket isnt hitting at a great time. I already sent the paper work in to appeal it in court, so that will be a done deal. Question is whether I can get it discharged or reduced. I feel I have a strong leg to stand on, but you just never know. They can still charge me $50.00 just for taking it to court, so fee could go up to $200.00
Points are going to cost you for YEARS, in insurance. If you are found guilty then just pay the fine. Always plead not guilty to a ticket. The charges will be dropped or reduced. If the cop doesn't show up then you don't even have to stand in front of the judge. That is how it is in NY anyway.
I once got busted with suspended license, no insurance, no registration and out of date plates. I had an insurance lapse. The DMV suspended my license, my registration was also suspended. I turned in my "new" plates (the state had just switched the design and issued everyone new plates) but kept my old ones on my car. I plead not guilty. I got new insurance and new plates for my car. By the time I went to court I had taken care of everything. All I had to pay was a $40 court fee.
ALWAYS plead not guilty.
