Anyone Ever Hear Of A Majano Crash?!?

To give here everyone a little backstory, this has NOT been one of my better Christmases, reefwise. Early Christmas morning, I awoke to discover that one of my oldest and largest acros has begun to 'rtn' for no apparent reason. The timing of this crisis made my wife understandibly upset as we were expecting a house full of guests and I was now staring at several hours of tankwork that had to be addressed immediately.
And, of course there was the matter of my 5 year old wanting to open her presents ("Where DOES this kind of selfishness come from?" :D )
Well, everything got done and things are slowly getting back to a more normal pace. But apparently, in the chaos of the last few days, I hadn't noticed something: About 90% of the Majanoes I had infesting my tank are inexplicably gone! I haven't added any new fish lately (and I've never seen any of my current fish pick at them) nor have my water parameters changed. The large acro was fragged OUTSIDE of the tank although the salvaged frags themselves are back in it as of now.
Could the 'stress' of the acro somehow affect the Majanoes in this manner? Is it coincidence? Or am I being 'set-up' for some gigantic Majano spawing event that will cause another tank crisis...on, say, New Years Eve? And lastly, has anything like this ever happened to any of you? Any first hand feedback here would be greatly appreciated.

:notsure:
I have never heard of such an event. I would definatly wonder if the RTN and the majono disaperance had anything to do with one another.
Is it possible that some type of chemical warfare is going on
Did you do a water change and run fresh carbon? What maintenance did you do?
Do the other inhabitants show and odd signs, coloration, behavior?

Yep, changed water, running carbon, and cranked up the skimmer. No other unusual signs and all parameters check out fine.
Weird, huh?

I don't want to mislead anyone: The 'rtn' here appears to be an isolated incident. Everything else seems fine...so far. But the disappearance of the Majanoes is a new one on me. And apparently, it's new to most others too.

Michael,
I know this is going to sound silly but do you have any shrimp in the tank? I know Peppemints will eat aptasia not sure about Majanos? I have heard several stories where people who have shrimp that wouldn't go near aptasia one day all of sudden decide to "wake up" and all of the aptasia are gone with in a short period of time?
