anyone ever stung by an urchin?

i WAS JUST MOVING ONE OF MY ROCKS AND i DIDN'T SEE MY URCHIN WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT FELT LIKE BEE STINGS ON MY FINGER AND NOW i HAVE A FEW BROKEN SPINES IN MY PINKY FINGER. ANYONE EVER HAD THIS HAPPEN TO THEM?

I have a black urchin with nice thin firm spikes and some longer spins that waive in the water. Is it a bad sting on these guys?

Is it a diadema? If so, ASAP, remove those spines, since if you do not, they WILL dig deeper....BAD.

My wife and I were in the Bahamas a few years ago and she stepped on an urchin. To this day, I’ve never seen her cry so hard (had the doctor from the resort come to pull the spines out of her foot).

I've been stuck a few times, it hurts pretty bad. The spine will work its way out.

Got stund when diving once.
To help out, remove the spine. Then wash the site with vinegar. This will help neutralize the venom and almost immediatley ease the pain.
Warm compresses and advil will help out with soreness later.
If you can't get the spine out, go to the ER.
And I just did not stay at a Holiday In Express last night.......I am really a doctor.
