I am considering a used 9010 tunze skimmer.
I find mixxed reviews...its either
5 star "I love IT!"
or 1 star "I hate it"
Doesn't seem to have any middle ground.
Think I should ask around and see.

Hey I got a skimmer I made in my back yard I will sell for 2 grand. Do you really want to find out if it is good or not on mixed reviews.

I don't know where you get 2G's for a Tunze 9010? I had one and it only cost me $440 Canadian.
They are a good skimmer, I do believe you get what you pay for and they make a good product. Other goods skimmers that I either currently used or have used are EuroReef and Hydor. These again are very good also, but will cost you from $400 to $700
The only problem with the Tunze I had is that I ran it with my EuroReef RS180, I couldn't get it to work well, because the EuroReef was to turbulent and effected the Tunze. I sold the Tunze to a fellow reefer and it works CRAZY for him, pulls nice dark skimmate for him.

I have a 9010 I got with the purchase of a used aquarium. I loaned it to a friend,he couldnt get it to work properly..I got it back, cleaned it,stuck it in my sump, seems to work fine...I already have a SWC NW 200 recirc in there, but I wanted to make sure the tunze worked...it is producing skinmate. My initall impression with this skimmer..cheaply made, lots of $$. That being said, if space is an issue..this might be a good choice. Most other skimmers you can SEE the bubbles, adjust the water level, and dial it in how you like..so you actually FEEL like the skimmer is working good. With the tunze...plug it in,set it in 4-11 inches of water, open the air inlet, walk away. Very simple, yet effective.
