You kids are supposed to be runnin' from twisters this time of year. Leave the quakes to us professionals.
You know after being born in Missouri and moving so much wit the wifes job we have been missing the tornado season. We have been thru tons of hurricanes 9 I will take them over a twister I have time to leave with a hurricane)
Anyway we moved back to Missouri and the Tornado siren goes off at 3 a.m. on one of the nights I was actually in bed and asleep at that time. It was right off our backyard. I sat straight up in bed grabbed freaked out ran to the doors checking everything then realized what it was ( it had been 5 years since I heard it) and was fine but man o man them sirens will make ya leave skidders on your sheets at 3 a.m. when ya don't remember wtf they are.

there is nothing worse than hearing that siren in the middle of the night.

I wonder if what we just felt was considered an aftershock from last week or anther earthquake.

Not exactly how close the epicenters were togehter, but they were in the same general vicinity. So what happens in an earthquake is that two parts of the earth slip by each other. Then what this does is make different stresses in a nearby part of the earth until they slip by each other and so on and so on.....until eventually everything evens itself out.
I hope this makes sense. I think I am confusing myself and the little blac kitty keep climbing on the keyboard.

BTW tornadoes scare the Bejezzez out of me.

ME to !! Nothing scarier that those sirens in the middle of the night.
When we finished our basement I insisted on full bathroom and bar/fridge.
We have spent many a night sleeping in the basement.
Now you want to get a good laugh??? Today I am doing some work in our basement........I felt something strange, strange like a vibration (very familiar these days.) I RACED upstairs with my heart pounding. I didn't want to be in the basement if we had another shaker.

You should be getting used to them by now.
Last big one we had followed by a week of aftershocks. During one my wife told me I should not lay under the ceiling fan during an earthquake.

My daughter is in middle school and in the band. The jazz band which is only about a third of the regular band drove 10 hours up to Reno NV on Friday. They checked into the hotel at 11:30 at night and at 11:40 they had a 4.7 quake.
