Mine opened almost immediately after it was put in tank...
they like very little flow... dont be blasting it with flow or you will kill it.
put it at the very bottom.. in your sand bed... thats where it likes to be put.
What kind of alveopora do you have?

Mine opened within a day or two. Like jesses89 said low to moderate flow and put it on the sandbed.

dont exactly know... but whats yours doing???
is it melting?
shrinking?
falling off?
those could be signs....
when you move it.... dont grab it by the flesh you migh hurt it.. grab it from the base
