I have 2 FW tanks....a 55G, and a 46G corner octo......the 46G has cichlids, and the 55G just a few regular FW fishies

so title is the question I'm just wondering my mum and I have been doing FW for years only moved to SW about a year ago.
I had freshwater tanks for many, many years. My first paycheck from Taco Bell went on a 10g tank and all the fixings, I was 15. I didn't get a saltwater tank until I was in my early 40s, now I'm in my early 50s.
My uncle had planted freshwater tanks when I was a little girl and my dad had tanks too. We were always fish people I guess.

yes I also think that sometimes FW gets ignored by SW hobbyists but each type is equally amazing.
It's a saltwater forum, they have freshwater sites as well. I like looking at feshwater tanks too. However I'm facinated by saltwater, tanks, critters, equipment...it's still very new to me, it makes me feel young and full of wonder and awe. I can watch the same fish tank for days and keep finding new stuff I didn't notice before.

I have a 55 g and 29 g FW. I have had a FW tank constantly from the time I was 18 back in 1986. Yeah that was Charles Atlas in the pic :). I still have two show Jack Dempseys, which I still can't figure out why they quit spawning. They were prolific for 3 years, then quit. I am also selectively breeding guppies. I try to cull them constantly, but have probably 400-500 in the 55 g tank. I am slowly shutting tanks down as I work on building my new house. I will be 100% off grid and want to have as small an electric use as possible when I move in. Before that I had 11 tanks 10 g-125 g mixed FW/SW and 1-10 g brackish.

I started with FW and have had many through the years. A planted tank can be almost as difficult to keep up strong as a SW aswell.

No, just one I picked off the internet as an example. I haven't done FW in years and years.
