To be honest not sure at the moment I would love to do a ray tank, however I was out of the hobby for a few years and feel like I learning all over again lol. I heard some rays are harder then others to keep, I had one about 7 years ago yellow ray I think it was too hard once it got on ghost shimp. What do yours eat? Love the fact that the tank is 36 deep. I have a 150 cycling right now and my 75 thats been up for a while, My lion is going to be needing more space by spring lol. A friend is selling that 350 for $1500 and I have a 125 I was going to use for my sump or refugium In your opinion is it best to run a sump and a refugium?
Thanks so much man

Sounds great... if there were a poll I'd vote for a stingray tank. You may be surprised that some of the fish that are tough to keep in smaller tanks become MUCH easier in larger systems.
The refugium is more important because it actually has some filtration value to it. The only purpose of the sump is to add more water to the system and give you a place to keep equipment. If your 125 is drilled, it would be pretty easy to use that as a refugium and use a rubbermaid tub for the sump. That's what I have. The rubbermaids come in sizes of 100, 150 and 300 gallons and they are built with a drain in them so they are pretty simple to plumb.
I'd say that $1,500 is a very good price if the tank comes with a stand and canopy. If not then you are going to be spending a bunch of extra money for those things. My setup came with tank, stand, canopy and MH lights for $2,200.00. Good luck and if you decide to do this, I'd be happy to offer any advice.
