he is reported to be a pretty good guy to buy from on the bay. I have a friend who ordered the same light. The light is perfect and good emails and communications with hombby.

How did he mount the light ? he said it has mounting brackets ,but are they hanging brackets or do they go to the tank ?

good to hear. The 48" your friend has is a 760Watt fixture right? think that is a lot for a 72gallon bowfront? I was thinking of replacing the 2x250 HQI with 2x150 that way the light lowers down a bit.

I bought the 48" hombby setup. It was working good for the first two months, and then one of the ballasts' for the HQI stopped working, it's killing me. I've got lots of SPS corals which i've had to move over to the side of the tank thats under the other (functioning) bulb. I'm trying to get a hold of this dude, to see what's up with it. ANy suggestions? whether you help me by getting in touch with this dude, or any advice on what to do about the ballast will help..
thanks,
Kevin
