$4 a piece, I was thinking I could get them in my tank as a cheap and small schooling fish.I know they are related to damsels, but I also heard they are relatively peaceful fish. Any one know more?
Reef safe too right?

Blue-green make the best dither fish in the hobby. I've always had one or two in my QT's to 'teach' new fish how to eat, and have zero aggression to newcomers. I've probably forgetten all the fish, my Naso, 3 Butterflies, multiple angels, have 'learned' to eat from the chromis in QT with them.
That said, reports on them actually 'schooling' are very mixed. Some have had luck, but most seem to find that the chromis start to kill each other, till you're left with 2 or 3 fish.
For size, the blue-green's stay, 'small'ish.' They do still reach at least 3" and the Blue-reef's grow even larger, but seem to not kill each other off. Though Blue-reef's are 3-4 times as much and at $4, definitely Blue-greens...

I asked about them in my thread about my reef build. There are conflicting opinions there also. Youre welcome to read it. Alot of people say they hear about them being terrible..but the maourity of people I hear that actually own them, say they are okay and only show a litte agression towards each other occasionally. I know that doesnt really help as I havent owned them either, but that is my experience as far as it goes.

With other fish they're fine. They do tend to pick each other off though.
Schooling could go either way...

I have 4 in my 120 and no problems either. These are great fish and really add a lot of movement to the tank. Think about any reef videos you see such as planet earth. What fish are always swimming and weaving there way through the acro's and other corals? Just makes the reef tank more realistic to me.

i have 9 in my tank right now and i want to add 4 more along with 7 fire fish. i love how they schoal on each side of the tank. i had 16 resplendent anthias before they are very colorful but they are not hardy plus very expensive for a small fish.if the b/g chromis died no big deal.

Heres a pic of the 5 in my tank, have been in the tank for over a year, no problems, and no aggression whatsoever. Peaceful and timid, also great fish.

My friend has four green ones. They look nice swiming together in a group. He's had no problems. Wow $4, the green ones $7 and blue ones $17 to $20 around here.
