I have had one on my 50 reef since Oct. It works OK as it had an impact on my nitrates after the first month. They are not very large so I wouldn't put one on a larger tank. Whether or not to get one comes down to one question. Are you a DIY kind of person? If so then just build yourself a refugium out of a rubbermaid container or an old aquarium, it will be larger and you'll save some $$$. the problems with the aqua fuge are:
1. no light or hood for a light so you'll need to buy one (let's face it for this price it should come with a light).
2. powered by a POS rio PH
3. Syphon return will fail from time to time and needs cleaning (for the life of me I don't see why they didn't design a gravity return).
4. they are made out of clear plex so when you light it the plex throws excess light into your main tank at night.
Don't get the wrong idea here I am not flaming them because I am not a DIY person, didn't have room for a sump and the aqua fuge works fine for me. It's just not the best $$$ deal
